Music Treats: Grown Up Wrong (The Tyke Years)

I recall getting this record player when I was little and my early years were spent playing records of every variety. My taste ranged from the Peter Pan Singers to The Rolling Stones. There were however definate favorites that I love to this day.

THE BANANA SPLITS "I ENJOY BEING A BOY" "GONNA FIND A CAVE"
The Splits were the first records I begged my Mom to get me. I am not sure if it was the novelty of sending something off in the mail from the back of the cereal box that inspired it. All I know is when I recieved the 45's, they were mine and I played them all the time. Here are two fave songs (I still love em!)

THE LOVIN' SPOONFUL "DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC?"
My Mom was a big Spoonful fan and I would dance around them, so it was pretty obvious it would be one of my early treasured 45's. I still stand by my claim that Zal Yanovsky is an underated guitar player.

THE ROLLING STONES "Jumping Jack Flash" "Child Of The Moon"
I think my groovy babysitters gave me this 45 or perhaps it was that the parents gave me to shut me up. Anyway, it fast became my favorite. I not only was into the A-side, but the B-side blew my young mind. It still ranks among my all time favorite songs EVER! (I dig the shades in the video for the A-side)
